Hours: 6:00am - 2:30pm
Job Details: Education and Training: High School diploma or equivalent. Must be able to follow standardized recipes. Classes or workshops in quantity cooking, nutrition, and sanitation desirable.
Experience: One year experience in full service, food service. Twelve months of food preparation experience preferred.
The primary function of the Cook is to prepare and cook food to the highest level of quality. Responsibilities include: A. Reading recipes and directions B. Estimating food requirements C. Preparing food D. Following established safe food handling and storage practices Food preparation will include operating a variety of equipment to weigh, measure, mix, wash, peel, cut, grind, stir, strain, knead, season, cook, bake, fry, saute', boil, broil, grill, roast, serve and store.
Special Demands: Works in a clean, well-lighted kitchen. The atmosphere is warm and humid from cooking foods. Is exposed to sudden temperature changes when entering refrigerator or freezer, and subject to burns from hot foods and utensils and cuts from knives or slicer. Prolonged standing and ability to lift at least l5 pounds.
